WW II - FICTION

"Surface with Daring" by Douglas Reeman (a.k.a. Alexander Kent)

This is a great adventure about a midget submarine and an attack on a German installation in Norway, which is heavily involved in the secret rocket program. What I particularly like about this book is the strong characters, especially the boat commander Seaton and his old salt commander. Reeman also did his homework and gives excellent descriptions of the training and operation of such small craft. I really enjoyed this book due to the different subject matter and the fine standard that Reeman sets in naval fiction (read the Richard Bolitho series about the British Royal Navy during the American and Napoleonic wars).
