"Gideon" by Russel Andrews 
A struggling young writer, Carl Granville, is asked to ghost write a novel of fiction based on factual events and people. What he gets his self into turns sour when people he is associated with start turning up dead and all the evidence points to him as the murderer. As he flees the law with his ex-girlfriend in search of the truth behind the story he was writing, they are also pursued by assassins intend on their deaths. There are lots of twists and a few nice surprises in the enjoyable thriller.
