TECHNO-THRILLER

"Silent Doomsday" by Robert Payton Moore

Navy Captain Mike Boen is in charge of the Non-Explosive Strike Warhead (NESW) Program. The idea is to develop chemicals that render machines inoperable and not harm humans. Dr. Julie Barnes works for a private company developing biological agents to eat waste. Renegade Libyans have a dream to do away Colonel Kadafhi, unite the Arab World, then hold the rest of the world hostage with weapons that will destroy economies and infrastructure. The Libyans infiltrate the civilian company and steal the formulas for genetically engineered micro-organisms. But even worse, they steal the sophisticated software used to prototype new microbes. All hell breaks loose and Captain Boen and Dr. Barnes are in the thick of it to save the World as we know it.

Moore has good ideas and his technical knowledge is comprehensive. As the book progresses, his writing style continually improves. Better written, I would give this book four stars. Mr. Moore's potential to write future great reads is there if his style matures. But, not a bad read at all. I enjoyed every page of fast moving action and was enamored with the great characters.
