MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR - FICTION

"Meridian" By Norman Zollinger

Join cartographer Bradford Stone, Kit Carson, and Captain John C. Freemont and a group of rugged mountain men on their trek to California to map new paths to the Oregon Territory. Then join the fight to wrest California from Mexico. Then return to New Mexico and fight the loyalist Mexicans in the last stages of the war as they try to the state.

Although this book is fiction, it is based mostly on historical fact and well worth the read. The author imparts a real sense of the people, the time, and the places.
