This is a continuation of the Rift
War Saga. New characters are introduced; Squire Locklear, Gorath the Dark Elf,
and the Young Mage Owyn. The old and familiar characters Pug, Jimmy the Hand,
Prince Arutha, and Martin the Bowman are also central to the story. There is a
powerful weapon left by the Dragon Lords and the magicians from the other side
of the rift want it for their empire's protection. They enlist the aide of the
Dark Elves to obtain the weapon. The heroes must stem the tide of the invasion
and protect the weapon from leaving its place of hiding. There is plenty of
action in the typical good style of Feist. This book is great adventure for
fantasy fans and I highly recommend his other books.
